What does it mean to pass on faith in God within a family? What are the
respective roles and responsibilities (and rights!) of homes, schools and
parishes? How can parents and grandparents best be supported in their
vocation?
The day took place at Hothorpe Hall on Leicestershire and was attended by 59 individuals from 19 dioceses in England and Wales. Plenary presentations were provided by Rev Dr Jeff Astley of NEICE on Questions of Faith and Fr Des Seddon of the Archdiocese of Liverpool on the Home-School-Parish relationship. A circuit of practice-based workshops were offered by Sr Doreen Grant (Parent-Centred Catechesis), SND, Breige O'Hare (Whole Parish Catechesis) and David Wells (Catholic Tradition Alive At Home). During and at the end of the day participants were asked to provide written feedback on each workshop and identify the next steps for themselves, their diocese and the working group. This feedback has generated a great deal of critical material which the working group will now be reflecting on at some length.
